MASON LODGES
The provisional france-masonry in Turkey, with a national conception, dates
back to 1909. Before this date there were so many masonries established at the
Ottoman Empire, dependent on obedience to the motherland of the minorities.
From this date, with the creation of a national obedience and the common practice
of the Royal Arch, the Turkish france-masonry began to attract the Muslim and
non-Muslim society of the Empire.
In 1965, The Grand Lodge of Turkey, the only obedience existing, which practiced an independent masonry, decided to adopt the methodology and the rules of the “regular” said masonry, recommended by The Grand Lodge of England. However some masons dissatisfied with this new organization and decided to continue their former practice and they created a new obedience “liberal”, that was recognized by all the universal working obedience by respecting liberal concepts of the france-masonry.
In 1991, the obedience The Grand Lodge of Turkey has created The Grand Women Lodge of Turkey. These two obediences accept to their changing Lodges the masons from all the harizons, while the “regular” said obedience recognized as masons only those who work by respecting the same Masonic conceptions as those reconized by The Big Plain Changing Lodge of England.
