Istanbul Theater Festival

This year’s festival will question issues, states, and realities around the human life including human rights, migration, war, and violence under the theme "Freedom - Questionings". More than 100 performances by 5 foreign and nearly 40 theater and dance ensembles from Turkey will be featured.
In addition to stage productions that will take place at 22 different venues in the city, there will be panels and workshops with the attendance of internationally known theater and dance ensembles, conferences and exhibitions.
The Istanbul Theater Festival will host a very special project this year. World famous contemporary artist Kutluğ Ataman invites everyone to complete their dream sky with his new project special to the Istanbul Theater Festival, "SILSEL, Letters to Turkey" between May 12 and June 5 in Galata Greek Primary School.
International Istanbul Theater Festival Honorary Awards will be presented to two distinguished actors: Başar Sabuncu and Cüneyt Türel. The other Honorary Award of the festival will be presented to Thomas Ostermeier, Artistic Director of Schaubühne Berlin.
The following is the list of venues hosting the 18th International Istanbul Theater Festival: Ali Paşa Han, Sahne Beşiktaş, Caddebostan Kültür Merkezi, Fulya Sanat Merkezi, Galata Greek Primary School, Garajistanbul, Haldun Taner Sahnesi, Hamursuz Fırını, Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Sahnesi, Hasköy İplik Fabrikası, İkinci Kat, Kenter Tiyatrosu, Kumbaracı50, Küçük Sahne, Lütfi Kırdar Kongre ve Sergi Sarayı, Mekan Artı, Oyun Atölyesi, Salt Galata, Üsküdar Tekel Sahnesi, Salon, Tiyatro Hal, Tiyatro Pera.
Tickets for the festival can be purchased beginning on 10.00 Saturday, April 7 at IKSV center (Nejat Eczacıbaşı Building Sadi Konuralp Caddesi 5, Şişhane everyday 10:00-19:00, closed on Sundays, except Sunday April 8) and through Biletix.
