TIM was founded by decree of the cabinet in July 1993 and represents all Turkish private sector exporters, fifty-eight Exporters Unions, and thirteen General Secretariats serving to Exporters Unions. Furthermore, as the Executive Committee has a balanced weight on a per-product basis, TIM represents all export items.
TIM aims to find solutions to mutual problems of exporters, to be a platform for the discussion of the problems of exporters, to co-ordinate between the state and private sectors and exporters and decision-makers, to establish policies, which increase exporting, and to represent exporters both in Turkey and abroad on an executive level.
